Sites - Hackney Town Hall
This Town Hall was built on Mare Street in the 1930’s by Lanchester & Lodge. It is one of the few examples of 1930’s town hall designs where the walls, gardening and tree planting were incorporated as part of the original design. The town hall is surrounded by stone parapet walls with four piers surmounted by bronze Art Deco lanterns at the front. It is close to the Hackney Empire and Museum.
